It is official. Next year I will be spending 10 whole months in Taiwan! Words can not describe my excitement. I will be living in Taiwan! I got the good news on Saturday, and was instructed to begin learning the language. Mandarin Chinese, this should be interesting. Nin Hao, this is Chinese for hello which at the moment is the only word I know. I think were going to go with Rosetta stone, but even with the program I know it will be hard. Anyway, until I leave for Taiwan I'm taking classes at COTC. Right now I'm in Composition 1 which involves a lot of essays, but I'm also writing essays for the Rotary exchange. My first one was simply what is Rotary, one down three to go. All I can think is in seven and a half months, I will be off to Taiwan! <3
Next year I will be spending my junior year of high school in Kinmen, Taiwan and documenting my adventure on this blog. Enjoy!

First day of COTC
So winter break has finally come to an end. :( Normally I would simply resume my schoolwork until summer comes along. However this year I'm taking a composition class at the local community college, COTC. On Wednesday my dad and I left to get there a couple hours early to get my books and find my classroom. I got to my class about 15 minutes early and introduced myself to my Professor. For the first day we simply went over the syllabus and wrote a short assessment to turn in. We started talking about MLA format which I learned about freshmen year in English, but I kind of forgot it. I was happy to find out everyone else had too, because I was the only high school student and it had been a while since they had done it. It was a little awkward at first with everyone staring at me for being the youngest, but it also felt good to be back in a class room. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to get writing!
